Snake and Bone Muscle Tank

I find myself returning again and again to the pairing of snakes with protea plants. Snakes have long been a cross cultural symbol for rebirth due to their skin shedding cycles. While the protea flowers ability to bloom beautifully after fires meant they came to symbolize renewal. Not only are they both delightfully fun to draw, but they make a perfect duo to explore a shared mythological theme

In addition to these two favorites, I’ve added other symbols from myth and folklore to tell a visual story of sorts. We’ve got an eye for insight, a tooth for growth, moon phases for change, and jawbones for strength. This piece was born out of a time where our life was at a crossroads, and it’s still a comforting reminder of both the power and constancy of change in all things.

A versatile stunner this tank looks great on its own in hot weather, but shines year round when paired with a flannel or cardigan. The relaxed arm holes on muscle tanks provide added opportunity for playful styling with decorative bralettes or cage bras, or easy layering with a camisole for a more opaque look.
