Luna Moth T-Shirt

When I create shirts that seem focused on beautiful things: moths, flowers, celestial ornament … I also like to hide a message. Protea flowers and luna moths share a common mythological theme of transformation; and I consider this shirt both a small nudge and a celebration. It can be easy to fear change but I like to think we can find some beauty in embracing its constant companionship in our lives. 

The luna moth is a cyclical creature and many school age children delight in raising them from caterpillar to adulthood in classrooms. Not only are they an exciting way to teach young kids about life cycles, but their final form is an absolute delight for the eyes; few creatures so captivate us. We drew on the vivid pale green of its wings in selecting this delicately heathered mint tee, which in addition to its striking color is buttery soft to wear.

• The water based ink on our shirts is heat set and highly durable. All of our items are heat set and machine washable.

This shirt feels gentle to me. Extra comfy to wear, a delicate design with a lightweight feel, and a color that makes me think of new and growing things.
