The influence of alchemy on the history of art runs deep. True, they may not have found the fountain of youth but they did figure out how to alloy metals, create oil paints, and refine the chemicals later used to develop photos. And the symbolism and imagery alchemists created to secretly communicate their formulas is now woven throughout the visual language of art. Here’s our own take on those early alchemical motifs in a playfully naive style that harkens back to those earliest of notebook sketches.
