Alchemy of Fire T-Shirt

I find myself endlessly charmed by the way that the early inklings of science and fantasy blurred in the history of alchemy. Here was that early desire to understand what made up the fabric of our world melded with an openness to esoteric explanations that has long since been abandoned for more modern sensibilities. 

This shirt is our own bit of alchemy. A collaboration between our studio and illustrator pal Veronica Steiner, it’s a blending of our two styles that’s a little bit scientific and more than little magical. Joelle and Veronica drew this homage to classic alchemical imagery together: a playful menagerie of white stags, fire salamanders, and the cosmos.

Anyone who ever mixed a potion of twigs, flowers, and rainwater as a child can probably relate to the impulse at the heart of alchemy’s practitioners. Here’s a fun and fashionable little reminder for your closet; some of our earliest great thinkers also yearned for a bit of magic.
