Or maybe you've already signed up and you're looking to learn more about what is currently happening with our little club and what we have in the works for the future! What does being a part of the Secret Society entail?
The FSS (I'm going to abbreviate going forward for brevities sake) is our way of creating a private clubhouse for anyone who wants to get a more behind the scenes and personal look at our art creation process. It includes a newsletter which arrives direct to your inbox as well as access to hidden sections of the shop which we are currently building. Plus you get coupons and perks and free things!
If you are familiar with the idea of a Patreon, think of this as kind of like a totally free version of that. It may seem kind of silly to offer all of the extra stuff for free when we could be doing it in a paywalled place, but we believe very strongly in generosity and abundance as integral to our values. Newsletter
The FSS newsletter is the primary way we communicate with members. These emails include behind the scenes stuff, personal writing, features on new art we are making, and occasional updates on Big Sales and FSS specific deals. We work hard to make sure that each email is loaded with stuff you will actually want to read and know.
I hate nothing more than being bombarded with constant sales emails by brands, and so we actively avoid sending non-stop spammy messages trying to entice you to buy. We believe that dedicating ourselves to the quality of the artwork we create is ultimately what leads people to shop with us. The newsletter is just one way to get to know the people behind that process.
Coupons
You get a ten percent off coupon to use when you sign up! We know some people sign up and then unsubscribe right away and we don't judge (life's expensive and we get it). That said we think those people are missing out and we hope they'll consider coming back for all the other cool stuff at some point. We also occasionally send FSS specific coupons, these are exclusive and there's no other way to get them.
Birthday Gifts
When you sign up you get the option to enter your birthday month and day. You can also add this later on by re-entering your account info and then entering your birthday on the sign up form when prompted. Those who sign up with their birthday get a coupon on their big day that is bigger than our introductory coupon. If you use this coupon you also get a free gift with your order that is exclusive for FSS members (this year's is an adorable holographic toad sticker in a birthday hat, and we love him).
Special Treats in Your Orders
We love sending goodies with all our orders like hand written notes and stickers! FSS members often receive special freebies instead of our usual FSS invitation. Things like art postcards, mini prints, and ephemera are now making their way into our member's packages. It really pays to be part of the club.
Freebies
This is our newest addition to the FSS collection! A secret shop that you can only access if you are signed up. It's got a growing library of downloadable printable stuff that you can access totally FREE! Take a look through the rest of our Behind The Screens blog to see posts about recent offerings. Each post contains instructions on how to access the free section once you are signed up too!
First Dibs Sales
We will very occasionally have FSS exclusive early access to one of a kind and small batch items and high interest sales. FSS members get access to these secret shopping opportunities before any remaining items are made available to our non-member customers.
Things we hope to add next!
The FSS is always growing and we are excited to build an awesome collection of features! Going forward we want to add even more cool stuff to our offerings, here's just a little taste of our what we have on our wishlist of future fun:
- More hidden sections in the clubhouse! Exclusive articles, tutorials, and behind the scenes writing, video, and photos. Maybe even a forum where members can swap cool bug pics and stuff? We're eager to build a space you'll want to return to again and again.
- Member rewards! Setting up offerings that allow members to accumulate rewards and points for free stuff and discounts is definitely something we'd like to add ! We've even toyed with the idea of creating a referral program where you would get rewards for sharing us with your friends. Setting up programs like this can be expensive, so we'll need to grow a bit before we can take the leap but we're very eager to get to that place!
- Classes and Workshops! We really like the idea of offering occasional video based learning opportunities and gatherings in the clubhouse. The ability to build community around teaching and bringing people together really speaks to us.
- Local Gatherings! We'd love to set up some local events exclusive to FSS members. Joelle has been dealing with some health issues this past year that have made doing local events difficult, but we hope that she will eventually be well enough for us to host, do pop-ups and workshops, and maybe even offer some in-person sample sales.
